Two Fil-Am Educators Stir Literary Appreciation

Two Filipino-American published writers based in New York City would give talks on creative and cultural literary works to enhance literary-cultural art appreciation at the Philippine Center Lobby on April 6, 2016 at 6:30 pm. This event is a gathering of minds billed “AuthorTalk” that features Jovy de la Paz and Juan De los Santos, both professional adult literacy providers in New York City. The two new Filipino-American authors will have their books displayed and launched in the occasion to be highlighted by the authors’ excerpt readings from their literary writings.

Jovy published four books of his poetry and a trilogy of plays and Juan, a memoir of his teaching experience in Africa. His latest work, Chameleons, is a participative short story collection on a social media platform.

Gracing the occasion are other professionals who are in various fields of activities serving new immigrants from a number of countries. This event is highly supported by the Philippine Consulate in encouraging reading and writing literary works in prose and poetry.
