Janos Delacruz is a Filipino artist whose work conjures dreamscapes layered with myth, memory, and urban tension. Known for his intricate compositions and surrealist style, Delacruz creates visual worlds that feel both fantastical and deeply personal—populated by hybrid creatures, symbolic architecture, and allegorical figures that speak to the complexities of modern life.
Born into a family of artists, Delacruz inherited a strong foundation in printmaking from his father, Fil Delacruz, and expanded his practice to include painting, illustration, and mixed media. He studied Advertising Arts at the University of Santo Tomas, where he earned recognition for his book illustration work, and later refined his printmaking techniques at the Art Students League in New York.
His art is dense with detail and meaning—often blending Filipino folklore, religious iconography, and contemporary anxieties into a single frame. Whether working in etching, acrylic, or digital formats, Delacruz invites viewers to navigate layered narratives that challenge perception and provoke introspection.
