He holds a BA Sociology and BFA from the University of the Philippines, and an MA in Divinity from the Union Theological Seminary. He paints about the working class and about cultural issues that beset a Catholic nation. In 1993 he held his first one-man exhibition “Pasada” at the Liongoren Gallery, and won the Juror’s Choice Award from the AAP Annual Competition. In 1994, he won Second Prize at the II Bienal del Baloncesto en Balles Artes in Spain. In 2002, he was one of the recipients of the CCP Thirteen Artists Award.
