Rey Mudjahid “Kublai” Millan is a leading contemporary artist from Mindanao whose monumental sculptures and expressive visual language celebrate the region’s cultural identity, resilience, and spiritual depth. Working across sculpture, painting, and public art, he creates large‑scale works that blend indigenous symbolism, Islamic influences, and modernist energy.

Born in Cotabato City and based in Davao, Millan is best known for iconic public installations such as the giant durian sculptures at Davao International Airport and the “Risen Christ” in Tagum. His practice centers on community, peacebuilding, and the lived experiences of Mindanao’s diverse peoples, transforming local narratives into bold, uplifting forms.
