Arturo “Jun” Veloira II is a Filipino artist whose career spans visual art, journalism, and design. He studied Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines, where he developed the foundation for a practice that later led to exhibitions both locally and abroad. Veloira presented two solo shows at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and held another solo exhibition at the Philippine Center in New York in 1993, marking his early international presence.
Beyond his studio work, Veloira built a parallel career as a writer, contributing regularly to major Philippine newspapers. He covered arts and leisure for the Philippine Daily Globe, BusinessWorld, Manila Times, and Philippine Star, helping shape cultural discourse during a dynamic period in the country’s art scene.
After relocating to New York City, Veloira shifted his creative focus toward jewelry design. Over the past eleven years, he has established himself in the field and now serves as vice president and design director of Grinnell Designs Ltd., bringing an artist’s sensibility to the craft of fine jewelry.
Veloira’s multifaceted career reflects a rare blend of visual artistry, cultural commentary, and design innovation—an evolving practice shaped by both Philippine and New York creative communities.
