“I want to tell the world that, we Filipinos have our own way of making great chocolate.”

cacaodebolaRaquel T. Choa grew up in the mountains of Balamban, Cebu, where she discovered what she calls, “The Pearl of the Forest” – the Philippine cacao. Through her grandmother, she learned about the legend of Maria Cacao, and of centuries-old Filipino traditions that harness the cacao bean, to make it into excellent tablea that she uses to create artisan chocolate. Her tablea creations gained popularity in Cebu, where the locals have dubbed her as their “Chocolate Queen.”

Today, Raquel’s tablea creations have become famous worldwide, especially since The Chocolate Chamber was chosen as one of the stops visited by dignitaries and heads-of-states during the APEC Summit in 2015.

This November, don’t miss the opportunity to meet The Chocolate Queen as she brings her passion for Philippine Cacao, and her many wonderful tablea creations, to New York City
