He finished an economics degree in 1978. He held solo exhibitions of his paintings in Naga City in 1977 and 1981. In 1984, he became a scholar of Dean Jose Joya in the University of the Philippines. He has held over thirty solo exhibitions. He studied leather craft in Germany in 1985, mural painting in Tomakachi, Japan in 1985-86, abd stained-glass in Palau. He has completed 150 murals and stained glass in Palau. He has completed 150 murals and stained glass commissions from municipal governments and churches in Bicol since 1986. Santiago Pilar wrote that his work showed: “dynamic movement though brushwork, line and color, rich texture, and light flashes resonating Bicolandia’s fiestas…”
