Lenore RS Lim: A Tribute to Philippine American History


The Philippine Center New York will be presenting a One-Woman Art Exhibition of Renowned Filipino American Artist, Lenore RS Lim.

Lenore RS Lim, a highly acclaimed artist and a prominent member of the Filipino American community in New York, will be presented at Art Exhibit by the Philippine Center to commemorate and celebrate the Philippine American History Month, observed throughout the month of October. The exhibit will be run from October 16 – 27, 2023, and will be held at the Philippine Center NY.

As an artist dedicated to advancing and promoting her unique talents as a Filipina, Ms. Lim has been widely recognized and acknowledged. Her achievements include a grant by the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation NY in 1999, the Presidential Award, Pamana ng Pilipino Award in 2004, the Outstanding Artist Award from the College of the Holy Spirit in 2001, the Outstanding Professional Award for Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines Alumni Association in 2007 and being named one of the “100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the US” by the Filipinas Women’s Network in 2009.

Ms. Lim has a longstanding and productive involvement with the New York Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Center, dating back to her first solo art exhibit in 1990. Over the years, she has actively collaborated with the Philippine Consulate General through her foundations, the Filipino Music and Art Foundation BC, and the LRSL Foundation for the Arts, sponsoring solo and group exhibits that have showcased the works of Jose Joya (National Artist), Francisco Coching (National Artist), the Printmaker Association of the Philippines, the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, among others. Since 2007, she has played a pivotal role in organizing the Philippine Center Arts Committee in her dedication to maintaining high-quality exhibit standards.

In her upcoming art exhibit in October, Ms. Lim is eager to foster cultural exchange and appreciation within the vibrant artistic community of New York City and honor the legacy of Filipino Americans. Her exhibit promises to be a captivating showcase of her artistic prowess, highlighting the Filipino American community’s diversity, talent, and cultural heritage.
